SISO Wireless Terminal Division(WTD) is Multi-mode Protocol expert house and Core competency centre within Samsung Wireless Terminal Business Unit of Samsung Electronics. At any point of time, SISO WTD unit is involved in 10-12 new Handset models being developed within Samsung Electronics.

The Core Competency areas:

  1. 2.5 G, 3G and Multi-Mode protocols:

    1. Covers vast variety of Protocols being developed in Mobile Industry serving US, Europe, Asian markets GSM-GPRS, EDGE, CDMA 1XRTT, UMTS, 1xEvDO, 1xEvDV, HSDPA.
    2. SISO WTD team develop/improve/optimize/test and verify the protocol stacks
    3. Performs Stack Certification process - GCF, IOTs, CDG, FCC etc
    4. Performs Field Tests over all leading Market areas

  2. Application development for High-end Phones:

    1. Applications areas include Video Telephony, Video Streaming, Multimedia Solutions |(Camera, Camcorder), Java, MMS, Browser, Voice Recognition, UI
    2. Developed Samsungs only Video Telephony solution better than solutions available in Competitors handset
    3. Applications catering to Major Operators in world Verizon , Sprint (USA), Vodafone, Orange etc (Europe), Reliance (India) and new markets (Australia, Brazil)
